Summer Art Classes for Kids Continue August 7 in Pasadena

Sign up your 3-11 year olds today for our week-long summer art classes, continuing now through the end of August. Nonprofit and donor-supported, the Armory's been a national leader in artist-driven education since 1947. Our rigorously trained teaching artists introduce materials, concepts, and techniques that challenge your child’s imagination while providing opportunities for playful exploration. (Ages 5-6) Sculpt your favorite animal! Using different materials such as clay, mat board, foam, coated wire and found objects, create 3D works of animals and their diverse environments.

(Ages 6-8) From blueprints to skyscrapers, design and construct a building on a small scale. Experiment with how to float a boat and suspend a bridge. Learn about useful man-made structures in our everyday environment.

(Ages 6-11) Study silent film masters Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton and create your own short theater scenes. This fun drama class emphasizes elements of physical comedy and universal expression. Learn the basics of non-verbal communication and how to project this ancient art on the stage.

Popsicle Stick Amusement Park

(Ages 6-8) Construct roller coasters, waterslides, and any other rides you can imagine, using simple materials like popsicle sticks, tape, clay and yarn. Learn different techniques of additive sculpture, modeling and joinery to create an unforgettable ride.
