Local letterpress design and printing business Spiffy Press announced their sponsorship of the Armory Center For The Arts today. Spiffy Press will donate a portion of their revenue generated at the upcoming Unique LA Spring Show in support of the Armory’s community-based art programs.

Artful Solutions: Pathways from Homelessness

The Artist Studio at One Colorado Announces Matt MacFarland as its Artist-in-Residence

Armory Center for the Arts and One Colorado are pleased to announce that Matt MacFarland will be Artist-in-Residence at The Artist Studio, a former storefront at 24 Smith Alley that has been converted into a working studio and exhibition space. From February 5 through June 5, 2011, MacFarland will maintain a studio practice while interacting with the general public through drawing and discussion.

Ruins of Daedalus' Labyrinth, a newly commissioned installation by multidisciplinary artist Nuttaphol Ma, opens in the Armory Center for the Arts’ Mezzanine Gallery on Saturday, January 22 from 7-9pm. Thai-born, Los Angeles-based artist Nuttaphol Ma combines elements of Greek myth, Western operatic form, and European weaving to create a maze-like installation based on a story of migration and survival in his installation Ruins of Daedalus' Labyrinth.

Celebrated, cutting edge new music ensemble, The Eclipse Quartet will perform a concert of contemporary works for string quartet at The Armory Center for the Arts on Tuesday, January 25 at 8:00PM. The Artist Studio at One Colorado Announces Carly Steward as its Fall 2010 Artist-in-Residence

Armory Center for the Arts and One Colorado are pleased to announce that Carly Steward has been selected as the Fall 2010 Artist-in-Residence at The Artist Studio in the collaborative relationship between the two institutions. From September 20, 2010 through January 10, 2011, Steward will be working and interacting with the general public from a former storefront which has been converted into an artist workspace and exhibition space at 24 Smith Alley, in the pedestrian walkway that runs behind Il Fornaio.
