Armory Winter Art Classes for Children Begin January 16

Our "Fun with Drama" class is a magical combination of visual and performing arts that builds confidence.

This is not after school arts and crafts. This is your community art school. Armory faculty are real, working artsits with masters degrees from the nation's top schools. Past faculty members like Edgar Arceneaux, Alice Konitz, and Rodney McMillin are among the most celebrated artists in the country. Small classes for our winter session are enrolling now. Tell a friend and sign up together. Armory Winter Studio starts January 16.

(Ages 7-9) Rip, cut, tear, and build! Use collage to make anything imaginable. Learn traditional drawing and painting techniques by using your pets and other animals as a source of inspiration! Read and create stories about your favorite animals and celebrate them in art pieces.

Honey, I Shrunk the Art: Miniature Art-Making

(Ages 5-6) Become a master maker of tiny art with a big impact! Painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, bookmaking, ceramics ~ any kind of art can be made small. Learn about miniatures throughout the history of art and make your own minuscule masterpieces.

(Ages 5-6) Design and build your very own, one-of-a-kind, mini food truck using clay, paint, and more to serve up your own tasty menu! This multimedia class will make your mouth water with colorful fake foods that look good enough to eat!

(Ages 6-11) Explore character, movement and theatrical expression through exercises and games. We will create backdrops and costumes, learn lines and bring a story or myth to life in a play for family and friends on Wednesday, March 21. Inspiration: Etienne Decroux, commedia dell'arte.
