Looking for a creative challenge or simply a way to express yourself? Armory classes offer adults a creative outlet for your artistic needs. Develop new skills or discover hidden talents. Beginning and advanced students are given individualized instruction to achieve their goals. Most importantly, you’ll have an outlet for your personal artistic expression. Make art together! Classes are designed for an adult and the child in their life to spend time together creatively. However you define family, the Armory provides the space to enjoy classes that introduce various materials, concepts and techniques designed to challenge one’s imagination and ability while encouraging playful exploration. Class limited to 7 children plus their parent or caregiver.



Classes for 3-6 year olds introduce materials, concepts, and techniques designed to challenge a child’s imagination and abilities while providing opportunities for playful exploration. Toddlers must be toilet trained.

Classes for 6-11 year olds are designed to enhance skills, broaden concepts, and provide an expanded creative experience. Materials and historical art concepts are used to achieve greater technical ability and broaden knowledge.

Classes for 12 to 14 year olds provide in-depth experiences through sequential classes. Students and instructors engage in more ambitious explorations of concepts, creative expression, historical and cultural context, connections, relations, applications and materials.

The Armory’s Art High programs give teens valuable, hands-on, creative experiences. In addition to Art High classes here at the Armory, these opportunities include classes with partner organizations, and classes at Armory satellite facilities. Students work with professional, multi-disciplinary artists who bring their expertise into the classroom. Instruction is concentrated in two areas: visual arts and media arts.

With approval, teens 16+ may take certain Armory adult classes.
