Summer 2010 Schedule

Art High Classes for High School Students

Art High at the Armory offers various opportunities for high school students to gain valuable art experiences. Instruction concentration is in two areas: visual arts and media arts. Depending on student needs and level of exposure, these opportunities include: R.O.P. classes in photography, video, design and letterpress; Armory partner classes, which may provide “F” credit, in drawing and portfolio development; Armory adult classes in painting, drawing, ceramics, digital art and more; and the introduction of our portfolio lab for school students. Students work with professional artists in various disciplines who are experts in bringing their experience into the classroom. Classes take place at the Armory’s main location.

Armory Art High classes for ages 15-18 are tuition free, completely underwritten by grants and individual donations from: Institute of Museum and Library Services, The Eisner Foundation, The Rose Hills Foundation, The Rowe and Gayle Giesen Trust, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Surdna Foundation. Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis, limit 1 class per student per session. There is a $30 registration fee per class. The registration fee is nonrefundable. Limited to fourteen students, classes allow for more individualized instruction. All students must be 15 years old by the first day of class.

On-Line registration is not available for Art High classes. Due to high demand, registration for Art High is available only through fax and walk-ins.
