And
So It Went: Ephemeral Art
May 12 June 16
Opening Reception Friday, May 10, 7 9 p.m.
A
collaboration with NewTown, this juried exhibition includes art
that sprouts, rots, rusts, melts, runs, oozes, dies, regenerates,
and in numerous other ways changes over time. And So It Went celebrates
the ephemeral, things evanescent along a scenic byway populated
by artists whose visions bypass the permanence paradigm of traditional
art. The materials are as diverse as yogurt, rye seed, potatoes
(sweet and otherwise), ice, sugar, men's suits, leaves, bubble
gum, dinner rolls, chocolate, and even photos of Robert Rauschenberg.
Visit this show at least twice to see the changes over time. Each
week the show will be documented and the public can see photo
images of the art as it changes. At a special closing, featuring
ephemeral performances, the full documentation of the show will
be unveiled.
Artists
include Kim Abeles, Karen Atkinson, Dori Atlantis & Karen
Frimkess-Wolff, Lorraine Cleary Dale, Leo Hobaica, Laurel Hunter,
Nina K. Jun, Gina Kuraner, Louisa Miller, John Mills, Lazaro Montano,
