Stephen Berkman: Between Two Worlds

Photographer Stephan Berkman’s tableaux vivants and portrait ambrotypes (positive photographic images on glass) are a panoramic celebration of the 19th century. Through his whimsically quixotic photographs, Berkman refutes the notion of history as a closed chapter, exploring the past as an evolving work in progress, receptive to serendipity. Made possible by an Individual Artists Grant from the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division and the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission. On view in the Mezzanine Gallery.
