In his installation One, Michael Sakamoto creates three pieces (for “Past, Present and Future”) spread throughout the One Colorado location. Each piece combines a sound loop with a visual image. “Past” includes testimonials about the history of the One Colorado site from older Pasadena residents combined with an early 20th century photo. “Present” is composed of interviews with younger people who frequent One Colorado and a contemporary One Colorado image. “Future” consists of children and teenagers expressing their visions for One Colorado and a computer drawing for a future renovation of the site.
