Through
Orphaned Eyes: Artwork by Children of Malawi
September 24 – November 19
Opening reception, Saturday, September 23, 7–9 p.m.
Joyce Kohl and P.J. Johnson traveled to the African country of Malawi
in connection with the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA), an
organization dedicated to helping address the AIDS crisis. During
their visit, they worked with children, teaching them to create
ceramics and photographs. These works were created by these children
to convey how AIDS affects their community as well as images of
Malawian life. The exhibition also includes video documentation
by the two artists. Organized by Joyce Kohl and P.J. Johnson.
