Up Close with Artists and Their Art
April 27–June 15
Opening reception, Saturday, April 26, 7–9 p.m.
Lorraine Cleary Dale, curator

Up Close with Artists and their Art is an interactive exhibition created by the Armory’s Fellows who teach in our New Visions Field Trip Program. Each artist has created an interactive environment based on the themes and ideas in their own art. Many of the artists are inspired by everyday life. In this exhibition viewers are encouraged to investigate their surroundings and to explore materials and ideas. Artists included in the exhibition are Emmanual Crespo, Zachary Davis, Alison Goldberg, Emilie Halpern, Olga Koumoundouros, Christina Morla and Matt Wardell. Their works, which invite the audience to participate, are mixed media creations made with various items such as electrical cords, phone wires, tubes, hoses, oversized puzzle pieces, climbing structures, video, tricycles, karaoke machines, couches, pillows, musical instruments and more.
Gallery hours: Friday–Sunday, noon–5 p.m.
