Su8.34 Gone Fishin'
Students will look at fish of all sizes and colors and discover the world
where they live. Using paint, clay and cardboard, they’ll create
boats to explore the waters and tell imaginary “fish tales.”

Su8.35 Animals on Parade
Students will create animal masks and explore these animals through theater
games and exercises. Wearing animal masks, they’ll go on parade
and show off their characters.
Ages 5-6 / Grace Lacques
Su8.36 Awesome-blage
From wall hangings to shadow boxes, assemblage is the art of reinventing
found objects. Students will use different recycled and found objects
to create unique and individual works of art.
Ages 7-9 / Quinton Bemiller
Su8.37 Collage
Students will attempt to find the limits of collage in endless possibilities
of papers, materials and shapes. They’ll also become familiar
with bricolage, the sculptural equivalent of collage.

Su8.38 The World's Wild Animals
Students will explore various continents on the earth based on their
natural animal habitat. They'll use drawing, painting and sculpture
to create the different animals and the places they live.

Su8.39 Art Archaeologists
Students will use many materials to create “arty-facts” inspired
by the objects unearthed by archeologists such as tools, fossils and
the remains of entire cities.
Ages 5-6 / Quinton Bemiller
Su8.40 Beginning Ceramics
Students will learn hand-building techniques and incorporate various
materials to make sculptures, creating functional and decorative art.
Each class offers new experiences and projects so students can take
this class more than once.

Su8.41 Boats & Bridges
Students will learn how to design and build sturdy structures. They’ll
build boats and test if they can float and see how much weight their
bridge can hold.

Students will learn the basics of drawing and painting. While experimenting
with color theory and mixing paint, they’ll use various materials
to paint with and paint on.

Students will use an array of materials to make magic wands, wizard hats
and their own magic words. Don’t miss the magical experience.

Hideaways
Students will make secret hideaways both big and small. Using fabric,
chairs, boxes and tables they’ll create places to escape and
crawl in. Clay, foam and more help make these small architectural models
and plans.

Party
Students will create piñatas using papier-mâché and
other materials. They’ll make their favorite animals and creatures.

So Funny
Using drawing, painting and collage, students will explore humor through
visual images. They’ll study cartoons, comic strips and even
stand-up comedians.

Students will learn hand-building techniques and incorporate materials
to create sculptures, making functional and decorative art. Each class
offers new experiences and projects so students can take this class

Students will learn to make sounds with their bodies: clapping, stomping,
singing, dancing. They’ll make instruments and create songs inspired
by drawings, paintings and sculptures.

Students will use traditional sculpture materials such as clay, plaster
and wood to make a series of abstract sculptural work. They’ll
gain technical skills and practice self-expression.

Students will transform a mixture of glue, plaster and papier-mâché into
art. Looking at a wide variety of artistic influences from famous artists
and ancient masks to fake restaurant food, they cover the full gamut
of possibilities with goop and goo. Roll up your sleeves!

Su8.51 Stop Motion Animation
Students will be introduced to basic animation concepts, using techniques
of stop motion animation. They’ll animate objects, sand, clay
and their bodies to produce a stop motion video.
Ages 7-9 / Michael Markowsky

Su8.52 Comics & Zines
Students will be introduced to concepts of how and why comics and zines
are created. From superpowers to favorite things, they’ll make
zines that combine what they like and don’t like about the world
around them.
