Su8.73 Where We Live
Students will explore the cultures of the world through the types of
homes people live in. They’ll make igloos, hogans, skyscrapers,
pagodas and more.

Su8.74 Characters On Parade
Students will explore character, movement and theatrical expression through
exercises and games. They’ll create their own character, make
a mask and parade through the studio on the last day of class.
Ages 5-6 / Grace Lacques

Codes & Secret
Names
Students will explore the world of codes, secrets, pseudonyms, surprises
and other things rarely shared. They’ll invent a secret language,
write, draw and sculpt items with hidden compartments and secret messages.
Ages 6-8 / Kat Ross

Su8.76 Art & Nature
Students will discover how elements of art can be found in nature. They'll
make artwork that uses a variety of materials and techniques while
learning basic art elements such as texture, line, color and shape.
Ages 7-9 / Chelsea Dean
Su8.77 Sewing Sculpture
Students will look at artists both men and women who use sewing as part
of their artwork. They'll use many materials and sewing processes to
make representational and abstract sewn sculptures.

Students will learn about animals that live in the ocean. They’ll
discover shells, fish, seaweed and whales and make art with many materials.

Students will read stories and create their own pictures. Then they’ll
make paintings and sculptures using an array of materials.

Su8.80 Go Cukoo for Clay
Create crazy projects using lots of clay! Students will explore the basics
of working with clay while building small and large sculptures inspired
by what they see and imagine, finishing their creations with bright
colors and decorations.

Su8.81 Space Colonies
Students will explore the outer reaches of the universe and learn how
to survive on other planets, asteroids and stars. They’ll create
spaceships to get to the outer reaches of the universe and build cities
that float and twist amongst the nebulas.

Su8.82 Art of Ancient Civilizations
Students will learn about the history of different ancient civilizations
and how the art they made related to their culture. They'll use many
materials and art techniques to gain knowledge of these civilizations.
Ages 7-9 / Asad Faulwell
Su8.83 Paperpalooza
Students will draw, collage, print, sculpt, cut and write on paper creating
numerous never before seen works of art.
Ages 9-11 / Kat Ross

Su8.84 Art Magicians
Students will use an array of materials to make magic wands, wizard hats
and their own magic words. Don’t miss the magical experience.

Students will use drawing and painting to make real and imaginary faces.
They’ll learn to draw noses, mouths and ears, as they explore
the senses and how each facial feature helps us understand the world.
Ages 5-6 / Malisa Humphrey
Su8.86 Cut It Up!
Students will attempt to find the limits of collage in endless possibilities
of papers, materials and shapes. They’ll also become familiar
with bricolage, the sculptural equivalent of collage.
Ages 5-7 / Naomi Buckley
Su8.87 Ceramics
Students will learn hand-building techniques and incorporate materials,
including metal, beads, feathers and more to create sculptures. Each
class offers new experiences and projects so students may take this
class more than once.
Ages 6-8 / Sara Bayles

Su8.88 Monster Destruction
Students will build monsters, miniature cities and create their own monster
costumes, then enact the inevitable destruction of their metropolis.

Su8.89 Pop-Up Artbooks
Students will explore various ways to make 2-D and 3-D books. They’ll
tell stories through layouts, cutouts and collages.

Students will create many kinds of animals from various materials, and
use found objects to make animals they’ve seen and love.

Students will construct their own robots! They’ll challenge their
imaginations and use different materials to engineer their creations.
Age 5-6 / Sergio Hernandez

Su8.92 Art In A Box
Students will start with boxes and turn them into art that tells stories
in a miniature stage like setting. They’ll explore 2-D and 3-D
materials as well as recycled and found objects.
Ages 6-8 / Sandra Gallegos
Su8.93 Plan A City!
Students will learn about different parts of the city and will design,
plan and construct their own city, using the same methods and concerns
used by city planners worldwide.
Ages 7-9 / Christopher Michlig
Su8.94 Photo Magic
Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of photography through
making Rayograms and pinhole cameras. Using both science and imagination,
students will discover how photography is an extension of ourselves.
