About Fontbron Academy’s Lectures for Better Living (Through Art)

What can the work of Chris Burden teach us about gun safety?

What can Tom Marioni teach us about alcoholism?

Can a Paul McCarthy sculpture really help us understand air travel?  “You bet it can,” say founders Robert Fontentot and Micol Hebron, “and we at the Fontbron Academy will tell you how.”

Using rhetoric, PowerPoint, interactive elements, and a little imagination, each lecture has explored a different topic through the uniquely illustrative power of art.

“We hope,” they add, “you will join us for this transformative learning opportunity.”

In addition to “MoveOn.Now:  Tomorrow’s Transportation Today,” other lectures on Fontbron Academy’s curriculum are:

• “Aggressive Zoology: How to Survive an Animal Attack”

“Eight Steps: A Users Guide to Addiction”

“Don’t be Sad: Happiness thru Beauty”

“No Nutritional Value: An Introduction to Modern Food”

“Tear Down These Walls: A Frank Discussion on Home Repair”

This lecture series has covered the breadth of the Southland, having appeared in venues ranging from museum lecture halls to stores, galleries, and street corners, with lectures occurring monthly from July through November 2012.  All lectures have been provided free as a public service to the community from Fontbron Academy. Certificates will be offered upon completion of the program.
