The City of Pasadena and the Armory left for the Arts invites you to its 11th annual celebration of the Earth and the Arts!
Free all-ages event in Old Pasadena... Live music from local bands, dancing and an interactive drum circle... Kids and parents get creative with art workshops... Eco-friendly exhibitors will display and sell green products and services... Sample tasty treats from popular local restaurants and a "Sustainable Beer and Wine Festival"... Try something new! Take a bicycle tour of Pasadena's art sites... Enter to win a smart irrigation controller and landscape audit... Enjoy an outdoor movie screening on the Friday night...NELA Transition will be presenting the Repair Café....

2013 FESTIVAL LINEUP
The festival kicks off Friday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion in Memorial Park with a free Conscientious Projector screening of the documentary “Occupy Love,” a celebration of the human spirit driving a global revolution of the heart as manifested in the Occupy Movement and a worldwide mobilization for climate justice.
Also, MIA (Moving Image Art) will be presenting a special pop-up exhibition in the mezzanine gallery inside the Armory with a selection of works investigating pollution, ecology and landscape by video artists Chris Adler, Ellie Irons, Silvia Rigon, and Tahir Ün.
OUTDOOR MAIN STAGE
11:00am Pasadena Folk Dance Coop: Folk dancing is great exercise and a wonderful way to make friends. The Pasadena Folk Dance Co-op welcomes you to learn dances from around the world.
12:00pm Pasadena Drums: Bring your store-bought or homemade drums and join the drum circle. We will start off with easy rhythms that everyone can play in unison. All ages and experience levels welcome.
1:00pm Green City Awards: Recognizing Pasadena-area businesses, non-profits and individuals who have exhibited creativity, initiative or substantial effort in practicing environmental responsibility.
1:15pm Folklorico Sol y Luna: Ballet Folklorico Sol y Luna is a traditional Mexican community based dance group located in the beautiful Valley of San Gabriel, California.
2:00pm Danza Yankuikuitl (New Fire Aztec Dancers: Danza Yankuikuitl is an indigenous Mexican dance group dedicated to preserving and teaching Aztec dance for the purpose of building friendship and understanding.
3:00pm RT & the 44's: A folk Noir band created by singer/songwriter RT Valine that uses instruments crafted from tin, 2x4's and salvaged parts.
4:00pm DJ Trolley Parker: DJ set from musician, singer, producer, engineer/mixer and LA Weekly writer Sean O'Connell.
ARMORY INDOOR STAGE
12:30pm Jasper Dickson Revue: Super Sweet East-Side Rock N' Roll.
1:30pm Skeleton Crew Pirate Band: Acoustic folk comedy from a pair of friendly pirates.
2:30pm Apple Brains: Fun music about fruits, vegetables, and good health.
3:30pm Gwendolyn and the Good Time Gang: Kids and parents will love this local sextet that the LA Times called a "sonic adventure" on-par with anything the muppets did in their heyday.
ARMORY ART WORKSHOPS (11AM - 5PM)

Pasadena Learning Gardens, in partnership with La Loma Development will gather to dicuss the future of food in Pasadena / Altadena at the Armory upstairs in the painting and drawing studio from 2 to 3:30.

The Sustainable Beer and Wine Garden will feature artisan lagers and ales from Pasadena’s Craftsman Brewing Company, Everson Royce and Los Angeles’s Eagle Rock Brewery with drinks served in fully compostable, corn-based cups. Yummy food will be available from two local restaurants, Pita Pita (Lebanese cuisine) and Robin's BBQ (Wood fire BBQ).
In addition to providing free youth art workshops throughout the day, Armory left for the Arts is bringing MIA “Moving Images Art” which will feature projections of artists' work using the moving images from experimental film, video art, installation art, performance art, essay films and animation.
Alternatively, join the 5.7-mile Earth and Arts Festival Bike Ride through town, led by Bike Ride through town, led by C.I.C.L.E. Perfect for riders of all ages and skill levels, the guided tour will highlight the City’s Rotating Public Art Exhibition Program. Meet at Memorial Park (Raymond Ave. & Holly Street) at 11am. Bring your bicycle in good working order. Ride leaves promptly at 11:30am and will return to the festival by 1pm.
