Ages 14+

In this introductory class we will construct a frame loom, and explore the potential of weaving by hand. We will cover geometric, abstract, and figurative approaches to weaving, culminating in a final project of either a set of coasters or a wall hanging. We will also study the work of artists who utilize weaving in their own practices, such as Tanya Aguiniga and Anni Albelrs, and learn about the history of the medium by looking at Medieval tapestries and Navajo Tapestry weaving.
