New! Ikebana: The Art of Japanese Plant Arrangement
Learn to arrange flora, fauna, and organic materials that are found, foraged, and mindfully collected. Students will create a Kusamono arrangement, plant a cool houseplant in mud and moss to make a hanging Kokedama, and use the magic of group energy and collaboration to make arrangements that bring joy, balance, and harmony back into our everyday lives. We will draw references from artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Azuma Makoto, and Rashid Johnson as we create our own unique arrangements. All materials are included in the class price, although students are also encouraged to bring in their own collected materials as well.
Masks are required inside the Armory for all students and visitors. All students age 5 and up must show proof of full vaccination on the first day of class. Please read our onsite class safety protocols here.
