2018 Events

Each year, the Armory brings free art classes to thousands of at-risk kids at low-income schools, libraries, parks, community centers, and juvenile detention facilities—made possible by donations from individuals like you. This year, all #GivingTuesday donations will directly support these free art classes for the most vulnerable youth in our community. Your donation will have twice the impact, because the Armory's board of directors will match donations made on #GivingTuesday.

At the core of the Armory's mission is a deep commitment to social justice through arts education. Throughout Pasadena and Los Angeles County, Armory Teaching Artists transform lives and communities every day.

Transforming Lives
Recently, Armory Teaching Artists have collaborated with incarcerated teens to create transformative murals of hope inside Los Angeles County juvenile detention facilities. A young man from a recent Armory mural project shared how the experience transformed his life. “I learned I can make a change for myself; despite the bad things I’ve done in the past... I also learned I am an artist and I enjoy painting now. I’m going to start painting because of this program.”

What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity. This year, #GivingTuesday is November 27th. Please remember to include Armory Center for the Arts on #GivingTuesday, and please encourage your friends and family to do the same.
