Hillary Mushkin: Drawing the Invisible 100-mile U.S. Border

Artist and educator Hillary Mushkin will moderate a panel discussion related to her ongoing project Three Border Ecologies. Invited speakers are Ian Philbaum, Program Director of Innovation Law Lab and Marcela Nunez-Alvarez, Research Director of the National Latino Research Center, California State San Marcos. Director and co-curator of the MexiCali Biennial Ed Gomez will also give insight into the concept of Calafia. This event is supported by Caltech as part of the Visual Culture Program and presented in conjunction with the MexiCali Biennial's exhibition Calafia: Manifesting the Terrestrial Paradise, on view in our Caldwell Gallery through January 12, 2020.
