About the Artists
Neelanjana Banerjee's fiction, poetry, and essays have appeared widely in journals and anthologies like Prairie Schooner, Weird Sister, Virginia Quarterly Review, PANK Magazine, The Rumpus, Mothers Before: Stories and Portraits of Our Mothers As We Never Saw Them (Abrams Image, 2020), Good Girls Mary Doctors: South Asian Daughters on Obedience and Rebellion (Aunt Lute Books, September 2016), and many other places.
Kate Lain is Los Angeles–area multidisciplinary artist working in film, video, clay, and other media. In her varied works, she plays with material, texture, traces, and movement. Lain is interested in ways people understand and interact with nature. Lain's experimental film and video work verges on documentary and spans a wide range—from essay film to stop-motion collage to impressionist portraiture. Her works have screened at festivals and venues internationally, including the Black Maria Film + Video Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Videoex Experimental Film & Video Festival, Experiments in Cinema, Los Angeles Filmforum, and the Portland Underground Film Festival.
